HOW TO GET DESIRED RESULTS BY TAPPING INTO THE SUBCONSCIOUS

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, either way, you're right.” - Henry Ford

The results we get in life depend on our thoughts but how do we intentionally put thoughts into our subconscious to Untap it's potential?

The events in our life are the outward projection of what's in our mind. That's why two people react completely differently to the same situation. Most of the decisions we make and the actions we take are subconscious. It manages more than 80% of the results we get in life. That's why this blog explores the ways to reprogram the subconscious mind to attain better results.

Lets first understand how our mind is designed and how it works. In my opinion, the most simple model is the one explained by Dave Gray.

Imagine a monkey, riding on an elephant, who is walking down a path. Inside the elephant is a lizard. The monkey thinks he’s in charge, but in fact, the elephant goes where it wants. If the monkey can communicate in a language the elephant understands (like vivid mental images, stories, and metaphors), then the elephant will hear and understand.

The monkey talks constantly, sometimes to others, but mostly to itself, and one of the things it likes to tell himself is that it is the one who is in control. It loves the illusion of control. But in fact, it’s the elephant who decides.

The lizard is constantly scanning for threats. If it perceives a threat, it tries to take control of the elephant. But its controls are primitive, it can only make the elephant terrified, or angry, and it really can’t control what happens after that.

Communicating with the elephant is a very slow process. It takes time. But when the messages are received the results are powerful and strong.

The Monkey represents the conscious mind, Elephant is the subconscious mind, and Lizard is the limbic system (primitive mind).

To unleash the potential of the mind we have to calm the lizard, guide the elephant and we can get the monkey where it wants to go.

Now that we have a fair idea of how the mind works, let's see how to untap it's potential in 4 dimensions - Mental, Emotional, Physical, and Emotional.

1) Mental -

The subconscious mind has all the answers. If you ask it "Why am I a failure?" , It will tell you exactly why you are a failure. But if you ask it "How can I turn my life around?". It will answer that too. So the Quality of questions we ask ourselves determines how we tap the potential of subconscious the mental dimension.

2) Emotional -

The subconscious responds to the type of emotions we have. So we have to be mindful of our emotions. Hawkin's scale is a good way to navigate our feelings and emotions.

3) Physical -

External events are not in our control but how we respond to it is under our control. Being Aware of the Choices is the key to untapping the potential of the subconscious in the Physical dimension.

4) Emotional -

To untap the potential of the subconscious in this dimension, we need to get in the state of flow.

Final Thoughts :

Be mindful of the questions you ask yourself, keep a tab on your emotions, evaluate your choices before responding, and do what you love. These are the 4 ways to untap the potential of your mind.
